Flow Pilates
Clinical pilates classes in Hythe, Kent

Flow Pilates. Hythe

Flow Pilates is a form of clinical pilates, with a focus on technique and muscle isolation, practiced in pilates classes in Hythe & Saltwood. It is an extremely effective exercise method. It works to improve the strength of deep abdominals, shoulder girdle and the spine, core stability, improving and targeting posture problems, encouraging good breathing patterns and correcting whole body alignment of joints and muscles. This means you are less prone to injury or wear and tear and will see improved flow of movement and ability in other sports and exercises. Flow Pilates Hythe will help you to understand your body functions, how to isolate muscles and improve your mental focus.

Pilates For Everyone.

I work locally in Hythe & Saltwood with small classes of 12 or less on a personal level with each class running for an hour. This allows me to focus attention on each student and ensure you are getting the most out of your session. One to one pilates sessions are also available.

Pilates exercises can be both gentle and extremely challenging in their intensity. It is, however, important to learn a few of the fundamentals first. As the exercises and technique build with time and experience, the person will discover, perhaps for the first time, an awareness of their own body how they move, sit, stand and walk. As you progress, the exercises can become harder and will challenge your strength, balance and coordination.

laura wightman, flow pilates, Hythe

After spending many years loving her local Pilates classes to improve repetitive strain on her spine Laura decided to change career and train to be an instructor.

Laura has been a pilates instructor since 2009, qualifying in Clinical Matwork Pilates in early 2010 with Pilates Training Solutions. She teaches group classes and private one to one sessions and works closely with osteopaths and physiotherapists who often refer patients to her. Over the years she has also qualified in Pre and Postnatal Pilates, Small Equipment Pilates, Studio Equipment Pilates and Childrens Pilates. Moving to Hythe in 2015 she set up Flow Pilates Hythe and now teaches 8 classes a week. She teaches her young daughter Pilates at home and soon hopes to return to teaching childrens group pilates sessions. She is passionate about health, nutrition and keeping fit and regularly practices yoga, enjoys walking, using TRX suspension training and if course lots of pilates! She enjoys her relaxation time with her family out on their paddle boards or walking.

“I just love teaching and feel really privileged that I am able to help people. Seeing how pilates can make such a massive difference to peoples lives is a great part of my job.”
